If you're in BA and are looking for Japanese food this is your place. I've never had anything bad here. I'm sure by making that statement that there is something bad here but I've never had the pleasure of experiencing it. Good Price for the food and we always leave full. Standard salad and miso that you get everywhere else, tempura is about what you expect. The boxes they have add a little something extra and are very filling. I like to play the what is misspelled on the menu game with my wife that is a fun way to pass the time waiting on your food.

Great food, and great service. I went here a few days ago while on a trip, everything turned out great except for the sweet potato tempura, which was slightly undercooked, kinda like biting into an undercooked potato, it had that texture. It's okay though, I am not gonna flip out over that. The main dishes were great though, and so was the service, It was the waiter's first day on the job so he didn't know the in's and out's just yet, but his charisma and friendliness made up for it and overall made it more enjoyable. Owners, if you are reading this, give the kid a break! - you know, the tan skinned asian guy - He did great. I wanted to thank him personally before I left, but he wasn't around when we did.

This is a place where you just go in to enjoy the sushi. Compared to other Japanese restaurant, this place is a lot smaller, which in a way it does gives you the authentic Japanese restaurant feel. The food is very good, the wait staff very efficient (they could smile a little more though), the place is very clean. The sushi chefs are very experienced, a must for this type of food. I would definitely recommend this place if you are just craving for good sushi without distractions.

I miss sushi. Now that I am vegan, sushi is not in the cars for me, however when it was I was a very loyal customer to this fine establishment. The place can get overly crowded on a Friday or Saturday night, the best times to go are for lunch for the specials and or weekday, except for Monday because they are closed, dinners. My favorite roll to get is the BA roll and I always start with the seaweed salad and wash it down with warm sake. The sushi boat for two is affordable for a date night and comes with sashimi, two miso soups or green salads and your choice of appetizer and chef roll all for 25.00 after tax. Steal! The staff is friendly and it is a nice family atmosphere owned by two brothers I believe. For those who live downtown or near brookside this beats yokozuma, in the raw and fuji hands down. It's a long trip but worth it!

First time at this place. Incredible atmosphere and unbelievable prices. Affordable for a college student like myself. Friendly and briskly attentive staff, even the obviously new one; constantly trying to better his skills. I got a rainbow roll which came out in under 10 minutes that was fantastic, nice and cool fish with excellent rice and avacodo. Then I got a salmon hand roll, came out in under 5 minutes. That was just as good, beautiful taste and texture. Definitely will be going back.

One of the highlights is that it's open until 9:30 most nights when the rest of non-fastfood Broken Arrow shuts down at around 8 it seems. The service was so-so. Neither here nor there. Our waters stayed full, so that's fair. The food was unremarkable. Gyoza (3/5): It was cooked well and came with a tasty sauce. But the insides were a bit bland. Miso soup (2/5): It's hard to pin what this tasted like exactly. Not fresh and the tofu and seaweed were a bit mushy. Pickled radish roll (3/5): The pickled radish inside was fine enough. But the seaweed was stiff and not wrapped around securely, and the rice easily fell apart. Big roll (2/5): It had the same integrity problem as the above roll and the ingredients didn't taste very fresh at all. The krab tasted like the kind you get in the snack packs at the store. The mushrooms and egg were alright.

From 2004-2009, Memories was a place that I frequented. I went for the sushi and learned a lot about Japanese food from this delicious store, eating here once or twice a week. It was like being in a relationship with the first person you ever dated... and then one day I tried a few other places and realized... I have options. In the past five years, I've probably gone to Memories about once a year. It isn't bad. But as I sit to write this review, I'm at a lost of positive things to say. The service has gone downhill, the rice sushi is wrapped in is often dry, other main dishes such as Chicken Teryaki have often been met with little more than a "meh". I'll probably go back here before the year is out. It's not the worst option and they have a menu with excellent options that just might leave you a tad bit disappointed.

Definitely a classic. By classic I mean sushi that's made by 1st generation Asian people. I never have to worry about this sushi being too heavy. They do of course have American sushi,but even then, I feel like it's a compromise. I give it 4 stars, only because I feel like the quality could be a little better. This is a bit off the beaten path for all you mid-towners, since its south of the wall (I-44) and in the scary town of Broken Arrow, but it is well worth the drive. This place is a small little restaurant hidden in small strip mall next to rather imposing Wal-Mart. They offer the standard Japanese fair, including sushi. I wasn't in too much of a sushi mood when I went, but I would definitely go back to try some of their signature rolls, which offer more than just another "unique" take on a California Roll. I opted for the chicken teriyaki bento box and was fully satisfied. Plenty of food at a more than reasonable price of $13.00. The meal came with miso soup, salad, 5 big pieces of tempura, gyoza (pot stickers), a california roll as well as chicken and rice. Everything tasted great. Service was fantastic. Noting that I am a Tulsa "Southie" and my drive may be a bit short than most, I'd recommend everyone else make the trip and try this place out. So far the best Japanese restaurant I've been to in Tulsa. Will be going back.

This place is kinda hidden and located in a shopping center but definitely a good place to get sushi when you are at lunch during work and want something quick and healthy. I first went here when i first moved to Tulsa and was with a bunch of people from work. Everyone always mentioned it at work so I figured why not give it a try. They have a great lunch menu and if you want sushi but also don't want to pay a lot for it, always go during lunch. This place always has sushi chefs on hand so when they are busy you are not waiting longer than you should have. I ordered several of the raw rolls that contained salmon and tuna. I am not a fan of sushi that has cream cheese or has been deep fried and than covered in sauce. I mean why bother getting sushi if you're going to do that. The quality of the fresh fish was great and they gave me a generous helping of ginger as well. The people I went with do like the cooked rolls covered in sauce so they let me try some. Even though I am not a fan of cooked rolls I thought it was pretty delicious. When you go for lunch they have an option that allows you to choose two or three rolls and it comes with miso soup and the ginger salad you get everywhere else as well. All of that for a fair price and quick service. I have never been here other than for lunch but it would be a good place to grab food and not feel like it is too loud to have a conversation. The restaurant in general was clean and also kinda small in a good and intimate kind of way. If I get the chance I would love to try dinner here. Definitely a good place for sushi!

Sadly I wasn't too impressed with this place. I was hoping to find a go to sushi place here in Tulsa/BA but this isn't it. We started off with an appetizer of gyoza, which was pretty good. No complaints there. Then the sushi arrived. I ordered a Dragon Roll and a Spicy Tuna Roll. The Spicy Tuna Roll was okay. All other Spicy Tuna Rolls I've had have spicy tuna and cucumber, and sometimes avocado. This one was just tuna and it tasted okay. It was bit boring, but not as bad as the Dragon Roll. This roll had an odd taste that I can't even describe. It almost tasted like freezer burn or fridge. The brown sauce that was drizzled on top and the avocado both had this strange flavour so the roll was inedible. I was very disappointed because I had been really craving sushi and it was a complete waste of money. I left hungry.

As a Memories of Japan frequenter, I personally love this cheesy decor sushi joint. Although the staff can be a bit awkward and a little slow, I think you will find the sushi and the prices make up for it in strides. Me rikey the sushi!!! Unfortunately I have only experienced this restaurant during lunchtimes, and boy do they have a heck of a lunch time deal. You can order the combination rolls (L1 or L2) for about $10 and you end up with 3 rolls of sushi and your choice of salad or egg drop soup. (DO NOT GET THE SALAD! God only knows what that dressing was...) Although when it comes to sushi quality this place is pretty great, I think I still prefer Yokozuna sushi downtown.

My friend and I eat here all the time. They have a salad with ginger dressing for $1.50-2.50 and it's my favorite thing ever. Their avocado roll is super good. I also like their cold tofu. We usually end up paying about $10/person.

I give this place 5 stars becaue I absolutely love their sushi. If you like spicy, try the Spicy Dragon Roll or the Dynamite roll. My boyfriend always orders the crunchy california roll.. My only complaint about this restaurant is that the service can be slow at times because there are only a few people who wait and two people who make the rolls. No complaints however on the food. Coming from California, the sushi here is quite good. Get the sushi boat deal!!! $19.99 for a whole lot of food: 2 bowls of soup (miso), an appetizer, Chef's roll, california roll and assorted fish sushi. My friend and I would have to share this order and always leave stuffed and satisfied. service is great! tempura ice-cream does not compare to the ones in Cali or NC... i think they use chinese ice-cream instead of the Japanese kind... you would know if you've had the real thing. =]

Memories of Japan is my first experience with Sushi/Sushimi. While I'm slightly psychotic with a problem with certain mouth textures, I loved their Red Snapper and the Avocado Rolls. My fiance and I got the deluxe plate, and I tried everything, and it was delicious... the only problem (For me, shouldn't be for anyone who isn't crazy) the texture got to me. The service was fantastic, the salad was tasty and the ginger dressing was very interesting; it was like nothing I've ever had before. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good lunch. On a side note: to be fair, I will try other places for sushi, just so I'm not biased. But I really did like this restaurant!

Consistently good food and service! I have been here several times and every time has been a good experience. I love their seaweed salad. It is pretty much the standard seaweed salad that you get at most Japanese restaurant, but the dressing has a little extra tang. The rolls are very good too. My main complaint is in the lack of variety in their rolls. The menu appears to cater to the Oklahoman diet, lots of mayonnaise and deep frying. While I love both of those things, I would rather to see a greater diversity in fruits vegetables and seasoning.

the service was crazy fast. I ordered the Tako Su, and the sushi Deluxe which comes with miso and house salad. I got everything within about 10 minutes. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to sushi. the tako Su was pretty good, and the miso soup was quite tasty. I wasnt a fan of the house dressing on my salad, I couldnt decide if it was tart and tangy or sweet. haha. the sushi deluxe was 10 pieces assorted Nigri and 6 pieces of california roll. the california roll was just OK, the avocado was a little brown. The nigri was an assortment, and the downside was how small the pieces were. I could fit the entire piece in one bite, I really prefer Nigri to be a two bite effort. I didnt like the salmon, which is usually my favorite. I did get a kick out of how fresh and yummy the red snapper was! All in all, it was 25 bucks. it wasnt bad, but nothing to really roll around in masago over.

Went there for lunch today and I thought it might turn into dinner as well. I have heard rumors of this place being a bit slow, which the rumor was confirmed today. They might have been shorted staffed, which is not a joke towards the average height of Asians, but we only saw 2 waitresses. They were doing quite well for serving the whole restaurant with 2. That being said, and hoping i haven't offended short Asians too horribly, the place is a nice alternative to Fuji or Asahi, while we wait for Wasabi to open back up. In the Raw, Tsumani( i know these are random but i already threw in all the other names). This place would still be a decent alternative when Wasabi is opened back up except for the wait. I have heard you can call ahead with orders so i will try that next time to see if i can't shave some time off of a 2 hour lunch, don't tell my boss... One of best parts of this place is its location, at least for me since i live in BA and don't have to drive into Tulsa or anywhere near Memorial or 71st to have Sushi.

I can't wait to go back! Here's what I ordered: sake (salmon sushi), spicy chopped scallops, spicy yellowtail roll and sushi pizza (crispy sushi rice topped w/salmon). Everything was very fresh and had such authentic flavors. My favorite item was the spicy yellowtail roll. Just enough siracha and spices to wake the taste buds. Clean, simple and well prepared sushi. Probably the best I've had in in Tulsa...or maybe it's a tie w/Sushi California :)

MOJ is the best sushi restraunt in Tulsa hands down. Located in a strip mall, the place is comfortable and not a high end upscale atmosphere which seems to be the norm for Sushi restraunts these days. My sister and I usually order the Boat for 2 which comes to a total of 25 dollars and includes tempura, a california roll and a chef roll of your choice also 1 appetizer of your choice and miso soup! I usually order to go for myself because MOJ is close to my work, I always get the B.A. so good!!! I highly recommend this for a date night or family/friend dinner. Very laid back, great sake, great food!

You can order the combination rolls (L1 or L2) for about $10 and you end up with 3 rolls of sushi and your choice of salad or egg drop soup. (DO NOT GET THE SALAD! God only knows what that dressing was...) Although when it comes to sushi quality this place is pretty great, I think I still prefer Yokozuna sushi downtown.

Tried this business yesterday on a tip from the chat room. Service was excellent. Ranks up with some of the best I've ever received. Sushi was good not the best I've had but good. Was a bit on the pricey side.

Best sushi I've had in Oklahoma. Service, food, and location is great. Can't get enough of their OK roll and Calamari. X) Great for first timers and regulars. ^_^

Not hugely impressed. been 2 times now and the sushi is generally cool/lukewarm which doesn't give me confidence when I eat it at all. The service was subpar both times and not very friendly.

Wow! It made up for the fact of only eating sushi once while I was in San Diego visiting family. We will be back over and over. In my opinion better than In the Raw (they were too bland). Great service, especially since the whole dining area was full.

My friend and I eat here all the time. They have a salad with ginger dressing for $1.50-2.50 and it's my favorite thing ever. Their avocado roll is super good. I also like their cold tofu. We usually end up paying about $10/person.

I give this place 5 stars becaue I absolutely love their sushi. If you like spicy, try the Spicy Dragon Roll or the Dynamite roll. My boyfriend always orders the crunchy california roll.. My only complaint about this restaurant is that the service can be slow at times because there are only a few people who wait and two people who make the rolls. No complaints however on the food. Always the best and definately try their salad. The ginger salad dressing is amazing and if you love it you can buy it and bring it home! Mmmmm...

MOJ is one of my favorite places for lunch and dinner. Sushi is great. Food is fresh. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly. I highly recommend any sushi that has eel in it. Yum.

Coming from California, the sushi here is quite good. Get the sushi boat deal!!! $19.99 for a whole lot of food: 2 bowls of soup (miso), an appetizer, Chef's roll, california roll and assorted fish sushi. My friend and I would have to share this order and always leave stuffed and satisfied. service is great! tempura ice-cream does not compare to the ones in Cali or NC... i think they use chinese ice-cream instead of the Japanese kind... you would know if you've had the real thing. =]

Horrible, horrible service. Our waiter must have been the dimwitted nephew of the owner. How else could he have kept a job there? We asked for a simple substitution, but were told that it was not possible. The food may have been OK, but the experience was already ruined.

Memories of Japan is my first experience with Sushi/Sushimi. While I'm slightly psychotic with a problem with certain mouth textures, I loved their Red Snapper and the Avocado Rolls. My fiance and I got the deluxe plate, and I tried everything, and it was delicious... the only problem (For me, shouldn't be for anyone who isn't crazy) the texture got to me. The service was fantastic, the salad was tasty and the ginger dressing was very interesting; it was like nothing I've ever had before. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good lunch. On a side note: to be fair, I will try other places for sushi, just so I'm not biased. But I really did like this restaurant!

Consistently good food and service! I have been here several times and every time has been a good experience. I love their seaweed salad. It is pretty much the standard seaweed salad that you get at most Japanese restaurant, but the dressing has a little extra tang. The rolls are very good too. My main complaint is in the lack of variety in their rolls. The menu appears to cater to the Oklahoman diet, lots of mayonnaise and deep frying. While I love both of those things, I would rather to see a greater diversity in fruits vegetables and seasoning.

I am a big fan of MOJ. Their lovely roll is my favorite! I've never had slow service and I go about twice a month. It's fairly well priced and a great place for lunch.

the service was crazy fast. I ordered the Tako Su, and the sushi Deluxe which comes with miso and house salad. I got everything within about 10 minutes. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to sushi. the tako Su was pretty good, and the miso soup was quite tasty. I wasnt a fan of the house dressing on my salad, I couldnt decide if it was tart and tangy or sweet. haha. the sushi deluxe was 10 pieces assorted Nigri and 6 pieces of california roll. the california roll was just OK, the avocado was a little brown. The nigri was an assortment, and the downside was how small the pieces were. I could fit the entire piece in one bite, I really prefer Nigri to be a two bite effort. I didnt like the salmon, which is usually my favorite. I did get a kick out of how fresh and yummy the red snapper was! All in all, it was 25 bucks. it wasnt bad, but nothing to really roll around in masago over.

Went there for lunch today and I thought it might turn into dinner as well. I have heard rumors of this place being a bit slow, which the rumor was confirmed today. They might have been shorted staffed, which is not a joke towards the average height of Asians, but we only saw 2 waitresses. They were doing quite well for serving the whole restaurant with 2. That being said, and hoping i haven't offended short Asians too horribly, the place is a nice alternative to Fuji or Asahi, while we wait for Wasabi to open back up. In the Raw, Tsumani( i know these are random but i already threw in all the other names). This place would still be a decent alternative when Wasabi is opened back up except for the wait. I have heard you can call ahead with orders so i will try that next time to see if i can't shave some time off of a 2 hour lunch, don't tell my boss... One of best parts of this place is its location, at least for me since i live in BA and don't have to drive into Tulsa or anywhere near Memorial or 71st to have Sushi.

I can't wait to go back! Here's what I ordered: sake (salmon sushi), spicy chopped scallops, spicy yellowtail roll and sushi pizza (crispy sushi rice topped w/salmon). Everything was very fresh and had such authentic flavors. My favorite item was the spicy yellowtail roll. Just enough siracha and spices to wake the taste buds. Clean, simple and well prepared sushi. Probably the best I've had in in Tulsa...or maybe it's a tie w/Sushi California :)

MOJ is the best sushi restraunt in Tulsa hands down. Located in a strip mall, the place is comfortable and not a high end upscale atmosphere which seems to be the norm for Sushi restraunts these days. My sister and I usually order the Boat for 2 which comes to a total of 25 dollars and includes tempura, a california roll and a chef roll of your choice also 1 appetizer of your choice and miso soup! I usually order to go for myself because MOJ is close to my work, I always get the B.A. so good!!! I highly recommend this for a date night or family/friend dinner. Very laid back, great sake, great food!

Not too pleased. Went in to try a new place, but the smell of the fish hit me in the face as soon as I walked in. The atmosphere was about what I expected for a place in a Broken Arrow shopping center, but the food was under par. I have tried a few places in Tulsa and so far this is at the bottom of my list. I will not eat there again.
